Hardy Diagnostics CarboFerm™ Neisseria Kit is a rapid test (four hour) for the identification of Neisseria species (including N. gonorrhoeae and N. meningitidis) and Moraxella ( Branhamella ) catarrhalis. CarboFerm™ uses acid production from carbohydrates and the presence of butyrate esterase to differentiate and identify Neisseriaspecies and M. catarrhalis.
