Gen-C 2.0 is an in vitro line probe assay for the genotyping of hepatitis C virus. The assay discriminates between HCV genotypes on the basis of variations in the 5’ UTR and Core regions. The assay works with amplicons obtained with NLM code AA896/24. For optimal results it is strictly recommended to use samples with viral load between 2×103 and 1×107 (if necessary dilute high viral load plasma before the RNA extraction).
